Charity Projects

We help with your help! Those who do not return their garbage sacks at the end of the festival have donated their 5,- Euro garbage deposit. We feel that this money does not belong to us and therefore, every year we donate this money to a few charity programs. Currently we are supporting: WORLD VISION, "Menschen für Menschen", YES and Tobabico e.V.

Tobabico e.V.

bild The UN estimates that between 80 and 100 million children live on the streets of the world. In Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, nearly 40,000 children fight for their daily survival. Tobabico doesn't look the other way and strives to give these children a home. Without help, these children will never be able to break free of the vicious circle of hunger and violence. For this purpose we are working on building an orphanage in the Congo. Money, food and clothing donations are needed to achieve these goals and implement the Tobabico's projects. This project cannot be realized simply with donations, we also need and welcome your individual assistance. Become a member and help to alleviate the suffering of these children.

YES (Youth Enhancement Service)

bild is engaged in helping young people and young adults, who find themselves living on the edges of the Jamaican society. Through the utilization of a type of training program, YES helps these young people with social integration and also assists in job placement.

The money will be invested into the lives of many Jamaican youth, who are outsiders. Many find themselves in this situation either because they are unable to work or due to personal problems. Most often they haven given up all hope of a bright future. This photograph shows one of our graduation celebrations, in which many of the participants have never been able to celebrate such an achievement.

Menschen für Menschen

bild Karlheinz Böhm travelled to Ethiopia for the first time at the end of October in 1981. During this trip he visited a refugee camp for approximately 1,500 semi-nomadic people from the tribe Hauiwa in Babile East-Ethiopia. Together they started their first project in nearby, approx. 30 km away, Erer Valley, where the refugees could settle into four new villages.

Today Menschen für Menschen carries out a multitude of long-term projects in seven different regions of Ethiopia. These include agricultural and agro-organic projects, the construction of water wells, a girl's dormitory and school as well as an expansion of women's health care. More recently we have focused on a training program and informational measures to assist in the betterment of women in the society. For these purposes we engage 585 personnel for approximately 2.6 million people.

WORLD VISION

bild is a global Christian developmental aide organisation. They organise developmental projects in the third world countries, which we support through financial sponsorships. Children are allocated monthly stipends, which not only pay for medical care and educational expenses, but also other programs which benefit the entire family and community in which the child lives.
